WWE WrestleMania 35 takes place at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, April 7. So far, Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins, Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch and Triple H vs. Batista are among the matches that have been confirmed, but there are still plenty of other match announcements to be made over the next few weeks. With that in mind, let’s try to predict the entire match card for this year’s “Show of Shows”…
#1 KICKOFF – Cruiserweight Championship: Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Tony Nese
Tony Nese has defeated Kalisto and Drew Gulak in the Cruiserweight Championship tournament so far, while Cedric Alexander has advanced after wins over Akira Tozawa and Oney Lorcan. Murphy has history with both men (Nese is his friend and Alexander is his long-term rival). Given that we’ve already seen Murphy vs. Alexander before on PPV, I’m going with Nese to progress.
#2 KICKOFF – Raw Tag Team Championship: The Revival (c) vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet
Chad Gable & Bobby Roode have been tearing the house down in live event matches against The Revival recently, but their latest defeat on Raw suggests that they will no longer be in the title picture. That leaves Aleister Black & Ricochet as The Revival’s likely opponents at ‘Mania. On the main show, I can’t see them being given enough time. On the kickoff, they’ll get the 15(ish) minutes they deserve.
#3 KICKOFF – Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
This match has only taken place on two WrestleMania main shows (WM30 and WM32), so it’s safe to assume it’ll be on the kickoff show again this year. Unlike previous years (Braun Strowman at WM33, for example), I don’t see many major Superstars being involved in this Battle Royal. Expect plenty of tag teams and NXT participants.
