Five matches took place at WWE NXT TakeOver: Phoenix on Saturday, January 26, with War Raiders, Shayna Baszler, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa leaving the event as champions.
We have recently seen Heavy Machinery, EC3, Lacey Evans and Nikki Cross make their mark on WWE’s main roster, but which other NXT stars will be the next to join them on Raw and SmackDown Live?
Let’s take a look at four Superstars/teams who are most likely to move to the main roster before the TakeOver: New York event on April 5.
#4 The Three Horsewomen
The future of Ronda Rousey in WWE has been one of the most talked-about wrestling topics of the week. Some say she is only officially contracted to the company until WrestleMania 35, while others believe she will remain in pro wrestling/sports entertainment until 2021.
Either way, it’s pretty clear that, unlike the up-and-coming female Superstars that we have seen on NXT, NXT UK and the Mae Young Classic recently, we will not be watching Rousey on WWE programming for the next half-decade.
So, with Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke featuring in NXT right now, and with Rousey involved in storylines with all four of WWE’s Horsewomen, it makes sense that the remaining three MMA Horsewomen could join the Raw Women’s champion on the main roster in the build-up to WrestleMania 35.
