Several storyline developments took place at WWE Fastlane on Sunday and SmackDown Live on Tuesday which will shape the road to WrestleMania 35 over the next four weeks. With Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Daniel Bryan, Kofi Kingston and many more all featuring in prominent roles on Tuesday nights right now, let’s take a look at the five biggest storylines we can expect to see from the blue brand as we get closer to April 7…
#5 The Usos vs. The Hardy Boyz
The story so far: The Usos won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship from The Miz & Shane McMahon at Elimination Chamber last month and retained the titles in a rematch at Sunday’s Fastlane event. The Hardy Boyz, meanwhile, reunited at the end of February after Matt Hardy surprisingly switched to SmackDown Live to team with Jeff Hardy in a victory over The Bar.
This week: The eight-man tag match between The Hardy Boyz, Aleister Black & Ricochet and The Bar, Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura descended into chaos when The New Day interrupted and caused a disqualification. Following the match, The Usos cut a backstage promo, specifically mentioning The Hardy Boyz as potential opponents.
What next: Not only have The Usos and The Hardy Boyz never faced each other, but they are yet to interact face-to-face since Matt & Jeff reunited on SmackDown Live. With no tag title match currently set for WrestleMania, perhaps we’ll see The Hardyz win a #1 contender match in the not-too-distant future.
