#4 Too many Universal Championship defeats

We’ve seen Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe lose credibility over on SmackDown Live after repeatedly failing to win the WWE Championship, and it’s a similar story with Braun Strowman and the Universal Championship on Raw.

Since becoming seriously involved in the Universal Championship picture in the summer of 2017, Strowman has lost five PPV matches for the title: SummerSlam 2017, No Mercy 2017, Royal Rumble 2018, Hell In A Cell 2018 and Crown Jewel 2018.

He even won the Money In The Bank briefcase in June 2018 but the questionable decision to have him inform Roman Reigns of his cash-in date (Hell In A Cell) backfired when Brock Lesnar interfered.

Fans would have been happy to see “The Monster Among Men” win the title at any of those events, especially when his momentum was at its highest in 2017, but the longer this Universal title chase goes on, the less fans believe in him.
