#3 Will the US title be on the main WrestleMania card?
The United States Championship has been held by four different people since Christmas Day 2018 — Rusev (32 days), Shinsuke Nakamura (2 days), R-Truth (35 days) and Samoa Joe (8+ days) — and it has changed hands a ludicrous 18 times since Chris Jericho’s reign as champion two years ago.
This week’s episode saw Rey Mysterio & R-Truth defeat new champion Samoa Joe & Andrade in a tag match, with Mysterio countering a Urinage to pin Joe for the 1-2-3. Following the match, Mysterio escaped after his pinfall victory and a furious Joe attacked Truth and Andrade in the middle of the ring, which suggests that the storyline will continue.
Of all the titles on the main roster right now, there is no doubt that this one is the least meaningful to WWE. All four guys are worthy of the WrestleMania main card, but we have already seen them battle it out in two Fatal 4-Way matches over the last week, so it’s difficult to see how the US title could possibly warrant being included anywhere other than the kickoff show.
