Luke Harper has been off WWE television since he and Rowan lost the SmackDown Tag Team titles against The New Day on an episode of SmackDown Live in August 2018. He appeared at live events up until November 2018, notably facing Ricochet and Lars Sullivan at NXT shows, but he has missed the last four months due to a reported wrist injury.
With four weeks to go until WrestleMania 35, the former Wyatt Family member made a timely return at the WWE live event in his hometown of Rochester, New York on Saturday, March 9. He teased earlier in the day that he could make his comeback, tweeting “Is anything going on in Rochester, NY tonight?”, and he later went on to defeat Mojo Rawley in a singles match.
Harper has been a member of the SmackDown Live roster since 2016 but this event was Raw-exclusive, so it remains to be seen if he will be part of the red or blue brand when he returns to television, or whether he only appeared in Rochester because it is his hometown. He took to Twitter after the show, simply tweeting: “Today was a tremendous f***ing day.”
- Nia Jax: Dave Meltzer is a piece of s***
- Lana: Wrestling is real, Ronda Rousey is fake
- No Way Jose has new hair… and it’s GREEN
Today was a tremendous fucking day.
