Since the launch of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on January 1, there seems to be a new WWE Superstar whose career comes into question on a weekly basis.
Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks have announced the signings of 15 wrestlers for the new promotion, including Chris Jericho and PAC, and many more high-profile names are expected before Double or Nothing on May 25.
So, how many of these WWE Superstars are really on the verge of leaving and, as Bruce Prichard would say, how much of this is just rumour and innuendo?
Let’s take a look at six Superstars/tag teams whose futures have been in the news lately…
#6 The Revival
What has been reported?
Fightful reported that “a situation unfolded” after the January 14 episode of Raw and WWE “has reason to be very fearful that The Revival are done or finishing up with the company”. Further reports came out suggesting that they were unhappy with the booking of tag team storylines and they requested their release.
What have The Revival said?
WWE has recently started using the reports in storylines. Scott Dawson said after The Revival became #1 contenders for the Raw tag titles this week: “There has been a little rumour going around about The Revival and I know I’m sure you’ve heard about it, scuttle-buttle all over the place, and we’re here to let you know the secret. The rumous are true. The rumours are true. Dash and myself, The Revival, we plan on leaving Monday Night Raw as the Raw Tag Team champions. But for now, ‘Top Guys’ out.”
