Seth Rollins discussed several WWE-related topics during his appearance on Edge and Christian’s podcast this week.

The 2019 Royal Rumble winner’s most interesting comments came when he explained the stories behind some of his most famous WWE matches and moments.

On his WrestleMania 31 Money In The Bank cash-in:

“I ended up winning Money In The Bank after the [heel] turn and then, going into WrestleMania the next year, I had that briefcase and there were no plans for me to use it, and so I came up with one.”

On pitching the idea to Triple H after Roman Reigns won the 2015 Royal Rumble:

“I remember the next day with Hunter, it was the second time because I had pitched the idea at the end of the year before, and I just wanted to remind him that I had this idea on the table and I think it’s a pretty good one, and even if it’s not the idea it can be a contingency plan if the main event of WrestleMania [Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar] doesn’t come to plan how you see it.”

On his Triple Threat match against Brock Lesnar and John Cena at the 2015 Royal Rumble:

“I didn’t have anything going into the Rumble and I knew that being in the Rumble didn’t really mean much for me because I had the briefcase. I was talking to John — he and I had become friends a little bit — and I was asking, ‘Do you think people really want to see this Lesnar vs Cena III?’ and he didn’t think they did, so I said, ‘What do you think about throwing me into the mix to make it a little different?’ … He was like, ‘I don’t hate that idea,’ and the next thing you know the idea comes to fruition, so I can only thank John for probably putting in the word for me on that one and getting me that opportunity.”

On his Triple Threat match against The Miz and Finn Balor at WrestleMania 34:

“I wasn’t ready to be the guy at WrestleMania but I felt like, with the Intercontinental Championship, some characters, particularly The Miz and Finn Balor… these are guys who I can play off, so I pitched the idea to work with Miz at WrestleMania. That worked out great and we ended up getting Finn in there. Finn and I had some excellent chemistry. Miz is fantastic, as always, and the three of us came together and we had a really good WrestleMania match.”
