#2 Shane McMahon turns heel on The Miz
Fastlane took place in Cleveland, Ohio, so something bad was bound to happen to The Miz, wasn’t it? The eight-time Intercontinental champion only wanted to make his father, George Mizanin, proud but he ended up on the losing end of a SmackDown Tag Team Championship match against The Usos… and then came the heel turn.
Shane McMahon, aka “One-Third Best In The World”, attacked tag partner Miz, aka “Two-Thirds Best In The World”, at ringside with a clubbing blow to the back of his head. He then ripped Miz’s Cleveland shirt off, wiped his sweat all over it and threw it in his partner’s face. Following a shove on George, Shane then locked in a triangle submission on Miz and received boos from the whole arena as he walked to the back.
The heel turn was very predictable but that didn’t take away from how well it was executed. This story has been entertaining from the beginning and, although it will be disappointing not to see Shane and Miz on the same page on SmackDown Live anymore, this was the perfect way to build their inevitable WrestleMania 35 match.
