The 2019 WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view took place in Houston, Texas on Sunday, February 17.

Here is a recap of what happened on the show…

Match 1 (kickoff show): Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Akira Tozawa – Cruiserweight Championship

Summary: One of the biggest moments came when Akira Tozawa attempted his usual dive through the ropes but Buddy Murphy caught him in mid-air and hit an impressive suplex. Tozawa rallied, connecting with a stunning hurricanrana from the top rope, and he went on to land two dives through the ropes, followed by a senton onto his opponent on the middle rope. However, he only got a 2-count, and Murphy then reversed a submission into Murphy’s Law to get the win.

Verdict: The cruiserweight title PPV matches never disappoint and this was no different. The fans chanted “This is awesome” on two different occasions, which is rare for a main-show match, never mind a kickoff show. Go check this out in full if you haven’t seen it!
