The 2019 WWE Fastlane pay-per-view took place in Cleveland, Ohio on Sunday, March 10. No titles changed hands on a night where multiple WrestleMania 35 storylines were set up, while Shane McMahon betrayed The Miz by attacking him after their defeat to The Usos. Let’s take a look at four kayfabe theories why the former SmackDown Commissioner turned against his “Co-Bestie”…
#4 The Miz was a liability
Let’s face it, Shane McMahon & The Miz lost their SmackDown Tag Team Championship matches against The Usos at Elimination Chamber and Fastlane due to one person: The Miz.
The finish at Elimination Chamber came when Miz hit a Skull Crushing Finale on Jimmy Uso, who rolled him up for the 1-2-3 to claim a shock victory. Then, at Fastlane, Shane pulled out all the stops to keep his team in the match, even hitting a Coast-to-Coast halfway across the ring to save Miz, but “The A-Lister” ultimately cost the duo by getting rolled up once again for a 1-2-3 pinfall defeat.
Maybe, after several matches together and back-to-back failures on pay-per-view, Shane O’Mac finally had enough of his liability of a tag partner, and that’s why he flipped out at the end of their match.
