Match 9: Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch

Background: The suspended/arrested/injured Becky Lynch was reinstated by Stephanie McMahon on the latest episode of Raw. “The Man” was informed that she will be re-added to the WrestleMania 35 main event, making the match a Triple Threat between her, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair, if she can defeat Flair at Fastlane. Both women suffered attacks at the hands of the villainous Rousey last week, with Lynch coming off the worst.

Summary: Lynch, still hobbling on her injured left knee, threw her crutch to the outside of the ring. Flair began toying with her opponent, targeting her left knee during a remorseless assault which lasted almost the entire match. Rousey appeared and punched Lynch, meaning “The Man” won the match via disqualification and booked her ticket to WrestleMania. Rousey then walked to the stage area and pointed at the WrestleMania sign.

Verdict: What… was… that…? You could have written 100 different ideas for the Raw Women’s Championship storyline and this Fastlane development would probably have made 100th choice on my list. The fans went insane when Lynch earned her WrestleMania spot at the Royal Rumble. Now she has re-earned her spot, the crowd barely reacted at all. I haven’t been as critical as many people have about all these twists and turns, but this was so underwhelming.

Grade: D

Elias was interrupted by Lacey Evans after singing another song. Out of nowhere, Randy Orton appeared and hit Elias with an RKO. AJ Styles then popped up on the ring apron and landed a Phenomenal Forearm on Orton.
