WWE NXT UK (Mar. 6, 2019): Results, Grades, Review, Winners, Highlights

The latest episode of WWE NXT UK aired on Wednesday, March 6. Here is a recap of what happened on the show…

Match 1: Ligero vs. Joseph Conners

Summary: The villainous Joseph Conners targeted the injured back of Ligero for much of this opening match. Ligero finally turned things around, notably when he connected with a Stunner after a reversal in the corner. He then kicked out of a vicious DDT and modified facebuster before pinning Conners’ shoulders to the mat with a unique pinfall to pick up a 1-2-3 out of nowhere. Following the match, Conners looked as though he was going to shake Ligero’s hand but he brushed past him instead and walked to the back.

Verdict: This was a good match but I can’t help but feel underwhelmed watching some of these NXT UK rivalries develop. The brand doesn’t need the crazy stories that Raw and SmackDown Live have — it just needs something to make fans care about what they’re seeing. Every time Ligero and Conners appear, I think, “These guys are good wrestlers”… but then what? The outcomes are meaningless when every match feels like an exhibition match.
