Much of the talk in the WWE SmackDown Live women’s division revolves around Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair right now, but what about Asuka?
The SmackDown Women’s champion retained her title against Lynch at the Royal Rumble, surprisingly making “The Man” tap out in the opening match of the night, and the rest of the division has since focused all of their attention on the new Women’s Tag Team titles.
With WrestleMania 35 just two months away, let’s take a look at the five most likely opponents who could challenge “The Empress of Tomorrow” on April 7.
#5 Charlotte Flair
It seems more realistic now than ever that Charlotte Flair will, in the words of Becky Lynch, “shoehorn” her way into the WrestleMania 35 main event between Lynch and Ronda Rousey.
However, if that doesn’t happen, then the most likely opponent for “The Queen” would have to be Asuka.
The two women met in one of the marquee matches at WrestleMania 34, with Flair getting the victory to end her opponent’s 914-day undefeated streak.
One year on, the general consensus among fans is that they would rather see Asuka vs. Flair II and Rousey vs. Lynch, as opposed to Rousey vs. Lynch vs. Flair and Asuka vs. TBD.
